BABIES SHOULD DEFINITELY BE GIVEN BREAST MILK

Nutrition is important in all aspects of life. If it is our baby and our child, this importance increases one more time. Of course, we would like to feed our little one in the most correct way, who we are looking forward to, who has completed her nine-month journey in the womb, who has opened her eyes to say hello to life. Turkey Medicals member and Turkish Dietitian in Antalya Medical park hospital gave information about the main topic.

The most suitable and correct food for our newborn baby is breast milk. Even if it is a premature baby, the most ideal food is still his own mother’s milk. Because all the substances that the baby needs at that moment are contained only in his own mother’s milk.

Breast milk is an irreplaceable miraculous food in terms of the fact that the baby is healthy, meets all the nutritional needs, is easily digestible, protects against infections.

We can’t finish counting the benefits of breast milk. Breast milk is sterile, does not contain microbes. Many diseases (diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, etc.b) prevents its occurrence. It is very important for the development of the baby physically, spiritually and intellectually.

Giving breast milk is also very important for the mother to protect her own health besides the baby. The incidence of some cancer diseases in nursing mothers is very low, conditions such as bone resorption, anemia are less common.

In order to increase breast milk to be more efficient; the baby and the mother should be in the same room after birth and breastfeeding should be started within the first half-hour after birth. Nothing should be given to the baby during breastfeeding.

The first milk that the baby receives for the first time, also popularly called milk, is very nutritious, it helps the mother’s milk production to increase a lot if the baby sucks even in small amounts.

.
IN THE FIRST 6 MONTHS, THE BABY SHOULD BE GIVEN ONLY BREAST MILK

Transform nutrients that we call complementary foods should be started after 6 months. Breast milk with appropriate nutrients can be continued until the age of 1.5-2 years. But babies should also be monitored for growth and development during the period when they are fed breast milk.

The mother’s diet and habits affect the amount and general composition of breast milk It is very important for the mother to have an adequate and balanced diet, rest and be spiritually happy, peaceful, suitable for the breastfeeding period, and for the mother’s milk to be productive.
