A NEW CHRONIC DISEASE HAS APPEARED AFTER THE PANDEMIC

A pulmonologist who said that a new chronic disease appeared when the pandemic was over, Prof. Dr. “After the pandemic, we see that not only mechanically shortness of breath, but also people have problems such as inability to remember some words as we call is brain fog, forgetfulness, irritability, inability to finish what they started, difficulty concentrating, and some sleep disorders,” he said.

Turkey Medicals member and Istanbul hospital Pulmonologist who took care of thousands of patients during the coronavirus period Prof. Dr. said that during the period they called ‘post Covid’, two important problems arose in patients.

Speaking about the problems that arise in people who have had a corona, Prof. Dr. said, “We said that we could end the pandemic this summer. Thanks to the sensitivity of our people, we have almost come to the end. We no longer see patients with severe lung involvement in outpatient clinics. The corona is now decaying among people like the normal flu virus. In the past, we have been paying attention in case of emergency because the cases from that wave after wave are over. Looking back, we understood better what kind of war we were in. After the end of these wave after wave of cases, we focused on people who have survived Covid. We are evaluating the period we call ‘Post Covid’. We see that there are two serious problems in patients.

Post-pandemic stress disorder has emerged. People still have a fear that something will happen inside them. There is a fear that they will receive bad news, a bad event will happen to them.

There is a state of chronic fatigue. There is both psychological and mechanical impact. People’s hands, especially their arms, don’t lift up. In addition, a state of forgetfulness that we call ‘brain fog’ has also appeared. In particular, some chronic problems have arisen, such as the inability to remember the outside world, to perceive too much. After the pandemic, just as there are chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, and COPD in society after the pandemic, we have a new chronic disease with the pandemic,” he said.

A serious stress has arisen in people

Problems that occur after post of people expressing serious to result in loss of manpower covid, Prof. Dr. “Pandemic only mechanically after suffering from shortness of breath in other people’s inability to remember some of the words we say brain fog, forgetfulness, irritability, and we didn’t finish what he started, difficulty concentrating, and we see the emergence of some diseases such as sleep disorders. As people started to live with these problems, their stress started to increase this time around.
.

Post-pandemic stress disorder, which we call not only passing the disease, but also because the loss of cognitive functions seriously affects a person’s life, there is a stress that this also gives. This makes it a serious loss of labor. People can’t concentrate on their daily activities,” he said.
