WHAT SHOULD PEOPLE WITH ANXIETY PAY ATTENTION TO?

Anxiety, which has recently become increasingly common due to effects of the pandemic, is a psychological disorder known as anxiety disorder. Although it seems normal to have anxiety in everyday life, some problems may arise in case of excess. Turkey Medicals member and department Expert Clinical Psychologist provided information about what should be paid attention to in anxiety.

Expert, who says that anxiety disorder (anxiety) has common symptoms such as increased heart rate, shortness of breath, constant fatigue, insomnia, muscle and bone pain, digestive problems, excessive sweating, tremor, decreased immunity. Clinical Psychologist in Turkey provided information about what needs to be paid attention to.

.
AN INCREASE IN HEART RATE IS EXPERIENCED AT THE MOMENT OF FEAR

Common physical symptoms of anxiety by the increase in the heart rate Expert Clinical Psychologist stated, “in a moment of fear and anxiety, the nervous system and the heart pumping more blood to the large muscles of the body, with impairment of a possible war to hazirliyormusca begins to beat. This condition also creates a feeling of palpitations in the person,”he said.

.
RAPID BREATHING DISRUPTS THE OXYGEN BALANCE

Emphasizing that shortness of breath is another important symptom, Psychologist said, “The oxygen we take into our body by breathing enters our blood and begins to circulate in our body. Reactions to stress, again, due to primitive instincts, send a signal to our nervous system that we need more oxygen. So we start breathing in and out more often. Breathing too fast disrupts the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide. Since the body cannot restore the balance of taking oxygen and delivering carbon dioxide, shortness of breath, which is another symptom of anxiety, occurs,” he said.

.
AN UNENDING FEELING OF FATIGUE MAY APPEAR

Noting that being constantly tired is also a symptom seen at the time of anxiety, Expert Psychologist said, “Our body spends a lot of energy trying to cope with stress responses, and this causes us to become tired. The energy we receive is not enough, and we see that our sleep is also insufficient. Being in a state of constant anxiety creates a feeling of unending fatigue. In addition to physical fatigue, mental fatigue is also one of the factors that trigger anxiety,” he said.

.
THE WAY TO REDUCE ANXIETY IS TO REGULATE SLEEP

Pointing out that our body secretes an excess of the hormones adrenaline and cortisol when we are in an anxious mood, Expert shared the following information, stressing that this hormone also makes it difficult to transition to sleep:

“Regulating sleep is at the heart of reducing anxiety. At least you can take a medication by a psychiatrist that will streamline the sleep rhythm, or you can stay away from the blue rays to fall asleep. You can drip lavender oil or get support from a professional.”

.
MUSCLE AND BONE ACHES CAN TURN INTO HEADACHES

Another muscle the reactions to stress is muscle and bone pain, said Expert Clinical Psychologist,”The muscles in the body are tense, which can cause chronic pain. If precautions are not taken, these bone and muscle pains can also turn into headaches,” he said.

Suffering from anxiety emerged emphasizing various problems in the digestive system, therefore, abdominal pain, bowel problems such as constipation emerged as a result of the brain under stress is a direct link to the direct influence of the intestines which even began to give signs of deterioration says.

.
SWEAT DISCHARGE MAY OCCUR

Expressing that our body begins to react when the nervous system is overexcited, Expert added that another point caused by his anxiety is a state of excessive sweating, which we call sweat discharge.

Noting that hormones affected by anxiety attacks can also cause tremors in the body, Expert Clinical Psychologist said, “Although tremors that often occur on the hands are common, they can also occur on the legs and arms.”

.
FLU AND COLDS HEAL MORE DIFFICULT

Emphasizing that a decrease in immunity is also another symptom of anxiety that should be paid attention to, Expert said:

“People who experience anxiety have difficulties even with conditions that everyone has, such as the flu and the common cold. In people with anxiety disorders, immunity decreases more quickly, and people are more likely to develop these diseases. Anxiety is a factor that constantly stimulates the nervous system in the form of war or escape, so it leaves the body vulnerable to seasonal diseases by being surprised by what the body will react to.”

.
DON’T SAY IT’S NOT JUST YOU EVERYONE’S GOING THROUGH THIS

Expert Psychologist, made the following suggestions about what to do if we are with a person who has had an anxiety attack:

“We should ask open-ended questions about how he feels about the other person, we should question how he feels by empathizing with him, we should listen to the other side without putting ourselves in the background, we should make him see his mistakes politely, we should make him see where he hangs out without being accusatory-judgmental.”

“We should not tell a person to calm down or breathe,” said Expert Clinical Psychologist, who also listed the things that should definitely not be done in the face of anxiety. We should not say that there is nothing to worry about, which, on the contrary, can lead him to anxiety. We should not make sentences as if not only you, but everyone is experiencing this. We should not say harshly that everything is his own fault,” he said.
